Value Proposition

Furniture that helps therapists who want to help their clients release stress and anxiety by using focusing techniques and fidgeting without distraction. Unlike fidgeting toys that are often lost or distracting.

Research

Research started with how fidgeting helps people focus and destress. This would be applied to therapy offices, targeting older clientele because of the embarrassment that comes with picking up and playing with colorful toys.

Fidget devices were added to seating and users tested the different seats, devices, and looked at different concept options to test and see what helped the users the most.

Therapists were interview and shown different concepts to see how they would like them in their offices, and what changes they would like to see in the design.

Clean

No large crevasses, appropriate fabric, and hard wood with a proper finish.

Engaging 

Multiple options for fidgeting along with hidden fidgets that clients can find during multiple sessions.

Comfortable

Extended periods of sitting and unpleasant conversation require comfortable seating.

With the help of therapists, this chair was designed with many different types of people in mind.
The wide features allows for different types of bodies and self-pacifying seating positions.
The fidgeting devices help appease the need for movement, while feeling more sophisticated for an older clientele.

Hard wood is used to give a solid, real feel to the chair.

Bamboo is brought in in order to bring notes of nature in the pieces.

Fabric is light in color and durable to bring a clean,
bright environment to the room.

Haptic is a brand that brings movement into therapy. The more sophisticated moving elements help keep clients feeling safe while also keeping them engaged.

Creating an Environment

Natural elements like wood can ease the mind. Creating seating that everyone can use is important  in making sure that each and every client can feel safe walking into their appointment.

Ottoman

The ottoman is the first in an expanding series. The features on this piece are mainly foot based to let the user have full range of movement along-side the chair.

 Haptic gives users a chance to release their stress and anxiety through non-distracting body movements that help them focus.

Spacious Frame 
The wide frame leaves space for different seating positions as well as different body types.

Low Profile
The low profile allows for patients of any height to access the seat as well as feeling grounded while sitting.
